Robert Kuttner’s excellent analysis of

Robert Kuttner’s excellent analysis of the antiwar movement(s): “After the battlefield smoke clears and the collateral damage becomes apparent, a mainstream movement opposed to future Iraq wars and supportive of multilateralism is only likely to grow.”

Kuttner certainly has a novel “interpretation” of what happened in past US elections held after wars. As for his alleged “excellent” analysis, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to ask whether such a comment arises not so much from the rigour of the analysis, as pleasure with the conclusion?

Do you have an argument or do you just like rattling that rat trap of yours?

Rat trap? Has someone been caught? My comment wasn’t for rats running down their comfortable mental mazes. It was for those willing to pop up their heads, and look at the outside world’s realities.
My (clearly non-comprehended) suggestion, was that Kuttner’s quaint “interpretation” of a 20th Century pattern of wars having led to US Preidential demise, was not well supported by the available evidence. In my efforts to not be too unkind, I apparently was misunderstood by some. I guess that’s a cross I’ll try to bear uncomplainingly.
I’d rather my “critics” go in peace than pieces.
