Having used the Police portfolio

Having used the Police portfolio to demonstrate his fascistic tendencies, apparently Michael Costa will be moved to Transport — so he can make the trains run on time…

Rumor has it Costa’s been told if he can get Rob’s brain to run at all, he qualifies as Emperor of the Universe.

Sorry, Rob, Cassandra told me this machine had been proscribed by you. I didn’t expect to get through. I must call her straight away.

After reading the hilarious Item, with it’s corny question, “Who’s Policing the Police”, one must wonder about the more worrying question, “Who will Correct the Politically Correct”? Now there’s a project the combined powers of superman & spiderman would find daunting?
ps, I’m not really talking to myself. Its an alias.

Perhaps not more worrying, Norman, but certainly a valid point. Who *will* correct the politically correct? Quite a lot of what is said about them, shrinking back, gasping “but you can’t say that!”, is on target.

But then, quite a lot isn’t. Who will correct the politically correct-correctors? If you think it sounds easy to interrupt some right-wing maggot’s diatribe complaining that the entire world is under the thrall of a left-wing conspiracy to give Asians, blacks, and gays more freedoms than “regular white folks like us”, and tell them that, in fact, they’re a fucking moron and completely wrong (but, y’know, more tactfully — and using facts), try doing it some day.

I decided as a tiny tot that the first rule of genuine thinking, as opposed to its “believing” sense, was to first analyse your own central beliefs. The Politically Correct stance, in common with that of their epistemological brethren, the Christians, Marxists et al who have preceded them, is to accept your own creed unquestioningly, and dismiss others’ perspectives as automaticly flawed.
This has always the keepers of the faith to feel secure.

and do you include neo-classical economists in amongst this bunch?

as a tiny tot? you must have joined MENSA at a very young age.

Cassandra, it’s rude to use somebody else’s name when you post to a website. Please refrain.

Robert, since you’ve readmitted me, I shall refrain.
I may even restrain a little out of consideration for people’s sensitivites.
What more could any reasonable person ask?

Unfortunately, Jonathan, it didn’t satisfy Rob’s need to not have The Emperor’s New Clothes even mildly questioned. I was banned from his site again yesterday, so I’m in to say au revoir before this section is effectively cut off as well.
I assume, Jonathan, that you’ll see today’s postings [in light of my previous restraint being spurned] as understandable? You tried to encourage peace, but Rob apparently couldn’t appreciate an armistice?
