Jason Soon is in Perth

Jason Soon is in Perth at the moment defending the right of workers to bargain collectively through a union (albeit the bourgeois AMA). I caught up with him today at the invitation of Gareth Parker. Jason is a very nice man, and — though it pains me to say it — so is Gareth.

If ever you get a grip on your preconceptions Rob, you might discover how wrong you’ve been about a whole range of issues.
Analysis of our most dearly grasped beliefs is often painful, of course, but it’s wprth a try?

The really cool thing about suggesting that others may have been wrong, and telling them to analyse themselves, is that you yourself don’t need to do it.

You’re right, Mark, but only when you’re moving in circles where opponents are unwilling to analyse their premises/logical structures. With those who are willing to to do this, though, it’s not so “cool”. The ability and WILLINGNESS to think rationally is more important than the strength of your comforting beliefs.
But it’s kind of you Mark, to defend Rob. He needs the help of as many “true believers” as he can find.
