Evil shit

What happens when the Socialist Alliance does a deal with the Labor Right?

Evil shit, that’s what.

You’ll read about it soon. I won’t be making any comments, but you should be able to guess where I stand on the issue.

Deal with the Socialist Alliance? What does one man and his dog have to bargain with?

You might have heard of Workers First. They’re a thuggish group associated with the Socialist Alliance that have had some influence in Victoria and are now moving west.

Don’t think it’s suddenly a case of “Deals aint deals any more”, Robert. It’s simply another variation on a theme that’s been playing for some time now, after factions lost most of their ideological significance, and became cartels for organising the distribution of spoils.

once in my brief foray into student politicking many, many years ago as a member of Unity (the Labor Right faction) I recall we did a deal with the ‘uglies’ of the Liberal Right and the trotskyite Left Alliance to undermine the campaign of the Labor Left candidate for presidency of the SRC by appropriate preference deals
