Don’t flatter yourself
According to Tim Blair, “Some people have called me the Michael Moore of the Right.” I can see the similarities.
Moore is funny and successful. He has had books on the NYT Bestsellers list and movies that break box office records. As a result, he is immensely wealthy.
And Tim… well, Tim has a blog.

Be fair, he’s also got a column in some “news magazine” or other, which is more than we’ve got…
Yeah, but we don’t go around big-noting ourselves the way he does.
Some people call me the space cowboy,
yeah some call me the gangster of love
LOL. great hit.
Point, Rob.
Anthony, Is this the opening to a concerted campaign to nickname Tim “Maurice”?
I’ve never done anything concerted in my life, does have a certain ring about it though…
Swish! Good call.
But has Tim ever spoken of the pompatus of love?
I didn’t make the comparison, Rob. Among others, Tim Dunlop did, a few weeks ago.
Incidentally, I’ve written a chapter for a book that made the NYT bestseller list, have seen many successful movies, and enjoy a vast spiritual wealth. So TD’s call is entirely justified.
Sorry to butt in …but you might wanna see my Tim Blair Aussie Flag article.
love your work.
TD’s comparison was heavy with caveats. Rex, commenting on that post, was a bit less ambivalent:
Are you going to claim that one, Tim?
On re-reading TD’s post, he says that Moore gains far more attention than he actually deserves. His comparison with you in that regard is hardly flattering, especially as you get far less attention than Moore.
You had to re-read Dunlop’s post to work out that the comparison wasn’t intended as flattering?
Oh, please. Oh, for the love of Jesus, please tell me that you’re kidding.
No, Tim. I had to re-read it because the first time I read it was over a month ago.
Well people on the right think Mike Moore is a wanker and people on the left think Blair is one…
Fair enough.
