People of “enormous integrity”

The Prime Minister, John Howard, yesterday rejected Labor’s call for a 12-month ban on former ministers taking jobs relating to their past portfolios, declaring “You cannot legislate morality if there is no instinct for it.”

[...]

Mr Alston joins a long list of former Howard Government ministers who have found work in their portfolio area after leaving Parliament.

How have so many immoral people found their way onto Howard’s front bench?

And the gay thing? Is that not, on some level, ‘legislating morality’?

Perhaps “You cannot legislate morality that I have no instinct for” would work better for him.

Has Stephen Loosely given back the money from the asbestos company yet?

I’m sure it will be oh so very different when Messrs Tanner, Emerson and Swan retire.

You don’t think Richo and Reithy could find me a job. I might be available in a couple of months, if only I’d been a minister I’d have manouevred into a nice payer. Maybe I should get onto David Flint, he knows all about how to make the most out of flunkeyism.

God save the Queen, God save the Queen, with all those Godless Republicans Who will save the Queen.

Of course you wouldn’t remember the filth that populated the benches of the last ALP govt because you were probably more interested in tossing off to the womens underwear section of the Target catalog.

No, mark, I’m pointing out that Bobby was too young to properly remember the last ALP cabinet and was probably too interested in squeezing zits to notice people like Richo.
