The thinking Laborite would as lief be found in bed with a cobra as in a committee room armed with "arguments" from the Tory press." Truth, Perth, 19 June 1915.
An unfunny wanker.
A Man of Action maintains a very entertaining blog.
Blogger on a Cast Iron Balcony
Helen Smart doesn't post as often as I'd like, but when she does it's worth reading.
Chris Clark is a Perth student and tech-obsessive.
Despite living in Canberra and umpiring softball, Mark Gallagher's blog is defiantly interesting.
A blog about industrial relations, trade unions, and the insidious WorkChoices legislation.
turn the favicon back on…
I might just do that. But I’m going to do a new one.
Having big problems loading the header images in Opera, works fine in IE though..
Hmm, the header image wouldn’t load on its own for me either (not Opera though; Firefox v0.5 or something). But after d/ling it separately (right click, “View Background Image”, back button), works fine.
Looks nice, although I can’t say I think much of the “Kick and Scream” font. What fonts didja use, anyway?
It’s always interesting to see each new design of your ‘blog, if only to find out what aspect of mad pinko radical history is “inspiring” your design sense this time around…
works ok on Opera, Firefox and Avant here
I don’t much care about Opera.
So, Mark, which bit of pinko history inspires this one?
10 points to anyone who works it out.
seems ok on safari too robert. a couple of niggles though, this comment entry box seems a little too wide (and a bit too short too).
oi - whats this “I don’t much care about Opera.”
watch it kiddo
I know, I know! (I think)
Folks, look to the background art in the star to find a clue for a famous artist and poet, socialist in their own way and one of my famous all time artists to boot.
The design in the star reminds me of William Morris, who would kind of fit Manas’ description
Damn, two hours late. If I’m right, you win anyway John :-)
(Car… er, Alex, is the answer “Who is William Morris?”? A spot o’ googling took me to a website dedicated to him, adorned with patterns which look kinda similar to the one in the star…)
If you hadn’t already found it, Kitten’s SpamWords is the bomb diggity.
William Morris it is. (His Marigold pattern, to be precise.)
The best wallpaper designer of all time.
I KNEW I knew that name! I lived in Walthamstow for a while and would always see signs and odd community mentions of the William Morris Gallery. He sounded like a tobacco baron to me which means it’s weird I never bothered to visit.
Very sultry new look though, Rob - I like!
For a moment I thought the Gothic script and the red was leading us to the wonderful Rosa. Perhaps next time.
The background in Safari loads last. Looks very slinky though I was not bored with the last one.
