At his (her?) new, improved, Textpattern-powered blog, William Burrough’s Baboon has posted some excellent thoughts about Christmas:
But what really gets up the nose of the [secular Christian] — the Gallilean — is the whining and howling of the [ostentatious] Christian about the nature of correct observance of Yuletide. The Gallilean doth at times wonder why the Doctrinal Loudmouths can’t spend more time at church and at home worshipping the Baby Jesus they claim to so revere. Instead, it seems, the Noisy Bigots patrol the department stores monitoring the religiosity of the musak playlist and gauging the spiritual fervour with which their council workers bestrew the municipal thoroughfares with suitably literal and didactic papier-mache.
A bloke, I think, judging from the occasional plane enthusiast moments.
