Style switch
I feel like a change, but don’t have time to redesign, so I’m reprising my previous stylesheet. If you prefer the new one, there’s a link in the sidebar to change it.

Rob, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The template you were running just prior to returning this one to life is much more attractive.

I immediately changed back to “Yeah, Whatever”.
Why don’t you ditch the Soviet style imagery altogether? It’s pretty offputting, and defines your politics, labels you, before a reader even gets a chance know you through your writing.
What “Soviet style imagery,” Rex? This design has a picture of a man fighting against chains. It doesn’t look like any of the Soviet art I’ve seen — it looks British.
The other design includes a pattern from William Morris, who was a socialist but died in 1896, well before the Russian Revolution.
In a previous design I’ve used a picture of Lech Walesa, who led the Solidarnosc movement in Poland — independent trade unions battling Communist dictatorship.
Finally, the title of this blog, “Kick & Scream,” comes from an anarchist song.
It might be offputting to you, but that might be because you don’t have a clue what it actually represents, and frankly I’m not that bothered if you’re put off by it.
But if people want me to go back to the other design, I will.
Well you asked Robert. I’m not that bothered if you ignore me either.
I see a resemblance between your artwork and this stuff if you don’t agree, well I don’t care.
Fair enough, Rex, although you obviously care enough to repeatedly comment about it.
No, I was surprised by your response. That’s why I commented again.
Actually I think it’s more of a beefcake logo than a Soviet one. Short haired, lantern-jawed, nude muscly figure breaking out of chains? He should be on a calendar, or perhaps Dreadnought’s site.
Liam, you’re not the first person to make that comment. When I changed designs, I said, “I’m giving away the homoerotic image in favour of a William Morris print.” When I introduced the design, I think it was a former blogger and regular commenter known as “g” who remarked on its sexual flavour.
The option to change stylesheets won’t work for me. Here’s hoping this comment will…
Ah, *finally* I can comment here. Must be Opera that doesn’t like the comment option at this site (I’m using IE at the moment to test it out)…
Oh, and I should mention I quite like this page layout, however homoerotic and/or Soviet the top graphic may or may not be.
Alright, I’m back to the newer design. Rex is clearly in the minority — the “Soviet-style” imagery got the thumbs up from voters in the 2005 Australian Blog Awards.
I love the smell of stacking in the morning… smells like… victory.
Aw, come off it. I told people to vote for me for best post (because it was actually someone else’s work), and to vote for other people in the other categories.
Yes, perhaps I should revise that.
I love the sound of left-wing stacking… sounds like Tim Blair crying.
