I still didn't really know how blogging worked and was trying to tiptoe around the web as cautiously as possible. I knew a couple of the parties involved personally and was reading their stuff, but they didn't know who I was or that I was reading (obviously) - even though I had Real Life (or whatever) contact with them during this time. It was just unbelievably bizarre, and as it got progressively nastier, I got seriously scared and nearly ran away from blogging forever. Thanks for the summary - certainly made me smile.
