Attention-seeker

After his deal with the devil failed to resonate with the electorate, Australian Nursing Federation secretary Mark Olson is struggling for relevance. That’s why he had to lie to his members in order to convince them to strike for half a day next Wednesday.

Olson sent a circular (pdf) claiming that “the Labor Government has withdrawn all offers and taken everything off the table.” This is not true, as Jim McGinty pointed out in a letter to the union on Monday, which Olson ignored.

I don’t think Labor needs to worry too much about the strike. It would have been smarter to strike first and sign a deal with Barnett in the last week of the campaign, but Olson’s put the cart before the horse. People will see this as the political stunt it is.

Speaking of political stunts … how are we looking on a response to one-vote one-value?

Harry Potter aka Mark Olsen has proved he’s an attention seeking nerd who has conned 300 nurse to strike, if they were serious they’d get more than that to a stop work meeting.

Of course The West will lap this up and hail him as a hero. Along with Paul “liberal mouthpiece” Murray and Liam Closet conservative” Bartlett who will use this as a Gallop Bashing exercise.

Breaking News, Gallop is meeting Olsen at 7.30 tonight.

Hopefully Strike will be called off.

I wonder if this is in no small part from Sharon Burrows saying that the Nurses should accept the Govt’s offer ??
