The West Australian’s new “investigations editor,” Natalie O’Brien, was thoroughly done over by Media Watch last night. What an embarrassment. Oh, and the West admitted another report was wrong, but made no effort to correct the mistake.
And does Natelie get to keep her job at the Worst? Highly bloody likely in this era of self-nonregulation.
Sorry Natalie, I spelt your name wrong. It’s not Natelie it’s Natalie. See how easy that correction and apology is.
This looks like a job for conservative bloggers to surround, ridicule, attack and destroy a journalist! Oh, wait, she’s from the West?

Good to see Strongarm being exposed on Media Watch – there is also a story on this in Crikey :-)
Hopefully the Board will decide to let Strongarm go, as I believe according to Crikey, Paul Everingham is in the running to run the NSW Liberal Party, and maybe Strongarm will take his place.
What ever happened to The West’s news website? It appears to be the only newspaper site in the country without any news!
*sigh* I remember when The West was actually a good newspaper. Well… better than the Sunday Times anyway.
Maybe The West are dropping their standards in anticipation for a Murdoch takeover?
Natalie O’Brien should have won the Walkley for her Children’s Overboard story for the Oz a couple of years ago, she also wrote some pretty good stories on sex trafficking a couple of years ago. Sounds like there were some exaggerations in this story, whether this is her fault or the subs trying to beaf up the story I don’t know.
